Composer lets me build and backtest trading strategies without writing a single line of code. The visual editor is intuitive and the strategy library gives you a great starting point. I've been running a momentum rotation strategy live for three months with solid results. The Symphony language is elegant.
Composer is excellent for building rules-based portfolio strategies — rebalancing, momentum, mean reversion at weekly or monthly frequencies. Don't expect intraday capabilities though. The backtesting engine is fast and the tearsheet analytics are professional quality.
Being able to describe a strategy in natural language and have it converted to executable code is powerful. Works well for straightforward strategies. Gets confused with more nuanced logic sometimes. The community sharing feature is a great way to discover new ideas.
