Scanz is a premium scanner for serious day traders. The price is steep, but the combination of real-time scanning, news feed, and breakout detection is hard to match. The concierge service at the Ultra tier is uniquely valuable.

Scanz does real-time scanning well and the custom filter builder is genuinely useful for finding momentum plays. However the monthly cost is hard to justify when Trade Ideas and similar tools offer more at a comparable price. The speed of the scanner is its strongest asset — results update almost instantly during market hours.

I used Scanz for about four months for day trading. The stock screener works fine for straightforward scans like gap ups, volume spikes, and price breakouts. Where it falls short is in backtesting and historical data analysis. You can find setups in real time but there is no way to test whether your filters would have worked last month or last year.

I mainly use Scanz for pre-market gap scanning and it handles that job well. The news feed integration helps me quickly see why a stock is moving. UI could use a refresh — it feels dated compared to newer platforms — but functionally it gets the job done for my morning routine.
